Check this video out. Is AI a threat to humanity? Will we all have intelligent robots in our homes one day? I sure wouldn't mind having an intelligent robot to clean my home... one who could do so many of the mundane tasks that take so much of my time. Think about all the things AI could do for humans... for example, an intelligent robot could be a care giver for people suffering from Alzheimers, or taking care of the baby while the parents are at work, and it's not a stretch to think that AI's could become companions for those who live alone, or for those who've lost a loved one, and in fact, I suspect the day is coming when AI's can be built to look, and behave in exactly the same manner as a lost one. Does that mean that someone could love an AI... fall in love with an AI... have their heart broken by an AI? I think all of these things are possible; the only question is how soon will AI robots become a commonality in the world's households, and I suspect that such a future isn't so very far away, AI's could replace the need for teachers. With their super intelligence, one AI could do the job of several teachers, because they'd be smarter than humans, and therefore able to teach any subject that might be in the curriculum, in fact, with AI's in everyone's home, the need for traditional schools could become obsolete. AI's could replace police, prison guards, and soldiers. In fact, AI's could do just about any job that humans could do, and therein lies the problem. In this video, Elon Musk talks about the idea that AI's might one day decide that humans are no longer necessary, and could perceive humans in much the same way as we do ants. So watch this video, and after you do, I'm sure you'll have much to think about. Will AI be a boon to mankind, or will AI be our downfall? Anyone whose seen Steven Speilberg's movie AI, featuring Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law very well may have seen a glimpse of the future, and if that movie was predictive of the future, then it may be the AI that are threatened by man, rather than the other way around. Definitely food for thought. 🙏
